Filtered Mouthpiece FAQs

What are Filtered Mouthpieces for?

Filtered Mouthpieces are designed for the Vivid, Protector, Enforcer 2 and Enforcer 3 breathalysers and are essential for successful use. Each mouthpiece is individually wrapped for hygiene.

Do incorrect mouthpieces affect breathalyser accuracy?

Using genuine Filtered mouthpieces for compatible models helps ensure correct airflow and breath sample delivery to the sensor, supporting consistent and reliable breath alcohol testing results.

How many mouthpieces should I order?

Filtered Mouthpieces – 10 Pack

Ideal for occasional users who want a small supply of spare mouthpieces for personal alcohol testing.

Filtered Mouthpieces – 25 Pack

A popular option for regular users who frequently monitor their blood alcohol concentration and want extra mouthpieces readily available.

Filtered Mouthpieces – 50 Pack

Suitable for families, sporting clubs, hospitality venues and workplaces that perform alcohol testing on a regular basis.

Filtered Mouthpieces – 250 Pack

Designed for high-volume testing environments where multiple people are tested each day. Ideal for workplaces, transport operators, mining sites, construction companies and professional testing providers.

Will these fit my Defender, Maverick, Alcotrack or WORKSafe unit?

No. Filtered Mouthpieces are only compatible with Protector, Vivid and Enforcer breathalyser models.

Will any other mouthpieces be compatible with my Protector, Vivid or Enforcer device?

No. The AlcoLimit Filtered Mouthpieces are the only compatible part for these models that can ensure a secure fit and successful test.

Are Filtered Mouthpieces re-usable?

For personal use, you can reuse your own mouthpiece if it's kept clean and in good condition. Wash it in warm water and avoid alcohol-based cleaners, as they can affect readings.

For workplace testing, use a new individually wrapped mouthpiece for each person. We recommend ordering a new pack whenever your breathalyser is recalibrated.

How tight should my mouthpiece fit inside the device?

It should slide in with light hand pressure and sit securely. Don't force it - if it doesn't fit easily, check you've got the correct mouthpiece for your model.

Why is my mouthpiece loose fitting?

A loose fit is usually caused by a worn mouthpiece connection tube or use of the incorrect mouthpiece. Firstly, check you're using a compatible mouthpiece. If the mouthpiece still feels loose, the plastic tube securing the mouthpiece to the device may be worn down.

Call our servicing team at 1300 667 661 to organise an inspection.

Do mouthpieces have a shelf life?

All AlcoLimit mouthpieces do not have a set shelf life if stored in a clean, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Replace any mouthpiece that's cracked, damaged or dirty.

My device is showing a "FLO" error - is this a mouthpiece issue?

A FLO error means the device was unable to detect a sufficient breath sample to produce a BAC% reading.

Firstly, confirm you are using a compatible mouthpiece for your device. Check the mouthpiece is fully inserted, then blow firmly and steadily until the test finishes.

If the error persists, call our servicing team at 1300 667 661 for further troubleshooting.

How often should I order mouthpieces?

We recommend ordering a new pack with each recalibration to ensure you always have clean mouthpieces available.
