PERSONAL BREATHALYSERS
Know your limit - Don't drink and drive!
Our range of personal breathalysers include high quality semi-conductor sensor and electrochemical fuel cell technology options.
For advise on selecting the right breathalyser for your situation and lifestyle, please call our customer service line on 1300 667 661 for advice.
Choosing a breathalyser:
Firstly, is it for personal or workplace testing? If it's for personal use choose one of the breath alcohol testers below. For workplace testing you'll need a breathalyser with Australian Standards AS3547 Certification so please click here to view our workplace breathalysers.
Secondly, are you a P plate driver, have you already had a drink driving offence or are you a professional driver eg, taxi, truck or bus. If so, you should consider a 3 decimal place breathalyser which will provide a higher level of precision and ensure you are 0.000%BAC. We highly recommend you purchase a breathalyser with a fuel cell sensor for superior accuracy.
Thirdly, how often do you expect to use the breathalyser? If you expect to use it a lot, (eg over 200 times per year) then a fuel cell sensor will suit you best. A fuel cell sensor holds it calibration much better and withstands more use than a semi-conductor sensor. Servicing frequency will be much less for a fuel cell sensor than a semi-conductor sensor. If you expect to test yourself 'occasionally' then a semi-conductor sensor may suit you best. Servicing frequency for a semiconductor sensor is every 200 tests or 12 months, whichever comes first.
Finally, look at the minimal extra cost to insure you're buying an accurate breathalyser. While it may cost you an extra few dollars now to buy a better breathalyser you'll be thankful when the Police pull you over and you can confidently blow in their unit and know you're under the limit (be wary of novelty breath alcohol testers). Think of the costs associated with losing your license. Taxi fares, legal fees, the fine and all the associated costs and inconvenience of not being able to drive your car.
We rigourously test the quality of our breathalysers and the sensors used. All of our breathalyser sensors are tested at leading NATA laboratories, for accuracy and durability, prior to release on the market.
